Top Hat classroom response system allows students to provide their own devices (phone, tablet, laptop) rather than purchase software-specific devices. Instructors boost engagement and give instant feedback in-class by presenting of a wide variety of question types⎯from standard multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions to visually-appealing word clouds and heat maps⎯that students respond to anonymously. Top Hat also can be used outside the classroom to create and manage readings, videos, discussions, and assignments. This presentation covers Top Hat as a classroom response system, Top Hat Textbook for assigned readings, and Top Hat Test for quizzes and exams. It also details tips to use the software most effectively and efficiently.
